My classes are focused on learning new art skills while still finding freedom in your art practice. Students explore how to apply the elements of art while still creating art that feels true to their personal style. Classes are taught in a series of two 2-hour classes. I teach in NW DC, although specific location varies by session.

Sample class structure:

Class 1: Introduction to materials, explore mark-making with water-soluable pastels using different amounts of water, pressure, and blending. Understanding light, value. and shadows - simple drawing referencing one piece of fruit or other simple object.

Class 2. Explore how to create a multidimensional piece of artwork referencing more complex arrangements using techniques from the previous class. Option to explore skills in color and pattern: combining still life techniques with creating personalized, creative patterns on surfaces and backgrounds.

Classes are sliding scale ($85-160 as of December 2025) and pastel sets are available to purchase or to rent.
